The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that results for candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be made public before midnight on Friday.
The announcement comes shortly after the commencement of the nationwide examination, which began on Thursday, April 16, 2026, across accredited computer-based test centres in Nigeria.
According to information shared on JAMB’s official communication channel on X, the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed that the release process for the initial batch of results is already underway.
Benjamin, in the update, stated that “candidates who participated in the UTME on Thursday, April 16, 2026, will be able to access their results later today, with publication expected before the end of the day.”
He further noted that an official confirmation would be made available to the public as soon as the results are fully processed and uploaded to the board’s result-checking platform.
Moreover, the examination body assured candidates of a transparent and timely release process, stressing that updates would continue to be shared through its verified communication channels as the 2026 UTME progresses.
The 2026 UTME remains a critical gateway for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria, with thousands of candidates participating in the first phase of the examination.
