Adediran, the convener of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), cast his vote at his polling unit, Ward D in Irewe, Ojo, on Saturday.
After casting his vote, Jandor called on residents to recognise the power of their ballots in shaping the future of their communities.
“Today, I cast my vote not just for the candidates, but for the future of our communities. Local government is the closest government to the people, delivering essential services that impact everyday life,” Jandor told journalists after voting.
He appealed to Lagosians across all wards to come out en masse and perform their civic responsibility, describing the local elections as a vital channel for holding grassroots leaders accountable.
“This is a call to Lagosians, who are voting whether for the first time or as seasoned voters, that your Permanent Voter’s Card is your tool of influence. Use it today to shape the future of your ward, Local Government Area, and our beloved state,” he added.
Jandor also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police for their visible efforts to ensure a transparent and peaceful electoral process.
“The atmosphere here is calm, and that’s thanks to proactive planning and coordination. I must commend the governor and security agencies for providing a safe environment for voters,” he said.
Interestingly, the polling unit where Adediran voted also played host to other prominent APC figures including former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Sosan, and former Ojo Local Government Chairman, Yinka Durosimi.
