Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams’s custody battle with his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, is still continuing, and this week, Williams filed an emergency motion in court, alleging that Drake-Lee defied a court order granting him sole legal custody over their children’s medical decisions.
The star claims his former wife obstructed their child’s orthodontic treatment by threatening legal action against the doctor, leading the physician to refuse service. He says that when he left the clinic with their children, daughter Sadie, 11, and son Maceo, 9, Sadie asked, “What is wrong with Mom? Why won’t she let me get braces?”
The court allowed the medical procedure and banned Drake-Lee from interfering further. The actor also says she keeps trying to interrupt his time with his children.
The couple divorced in 2017, and Williams quickly moved on, but he has frequently complained about Williams allegedly “gatekeeping” their children.
In March 2025, a judge granted Williams sole legal custody concerning medical decisions, citing worries over the parents’ inability to collaborate effectively.
