Reliance Jio today announced the launch of its 5G service in 7 cities across 6 states in India. The company has expanded its 5G network in Shillong, Imphal, Aizawl, Agartala, Itanagar, Kohima, and Dimapur. Furthermore, as per the details shared by Jio, it plans to release its 5G service in every town and taluka of the North-Eastern states by December 2023. With the recent 5G launch in 7 cities across 6 states, the company’s 5G services are now available at over 191 cities across India.

Jio 5G Services Now Available In 7 More Cities Across 6 States From Today

The company said that “such a large rollout that covers every state in the North-East circle is testimony to Jio’s commitment towards the development of the circle”. Users living in the above-mentioned 7 cities will be invited to Jio Welcome Offer, by which they can experience unlimited data of up to 1Gbps+ speed at no additional costs on their 5G handset. Alongside, announcing 5G services across 6 states today, the company also emphasized the use of 5G in the healthcare sector. In the healthcare sector, the company’s solutions such as “Jio Community Clinic medical kit, AR-VR-based healthcare with Jio Glass, and Smart healthcare solutions like tele radiology, and connected ambulance are truly enriching lives”, said Jio in a press release.

In a piece of related news, recently, Jio had expanded its 5G services across 17 states and union territories (UT) in India. The company started providing its 5G services in Kadapa, Narasaraopet, Chittoor, Rajnandgaon, Kolhapur, Sangli, Bilaspur, Panaji, Ambala, Mandya, Karnal, Rohtak, Sonipat, and more cities across 17 states. Prior to the expansion of its 5G services in 50 cities, at the beginning of the year, Jio expanded its 5G service in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The company also made its true 5G service available in cities of Rajasthan such as Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaipur.

Jio’s competitor Airtel is also expanding its 5G services in several cities across India. The telco in a recent development made available its 5G services in Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Kupwara, Lakhanpur & Khour in Jammu and Kashmir. Customers living in these cities will be able to get speeds up to 20-30 times faster than 4G speed. A few days back, the company had made its 5G services available in Coimbatore, Madurai, Hosur, and Trichy in Tamilnadu. Prior to that, the telco had expanded its 5G services in Dehradun, Agartala, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Rourkela a few days back.
