Joydon plans Lagos-wide expansion in 2026 growth push

Supermarket

Retail store and supermarket, Joydon Nigeria Limited, is looking at expanding its footprint across the nooks and crannies of Lagos State in its ambitious growth strategy for 2026.

The expansion move is aimed at ensuring that its customers’ needs are met, Ayeni John, the managing director of Joydon said in an interview with BusinessDay.

“2025 is a very good year for Joydon Supermarket and Stores because this year we expanded in business and in staff and in financial activities. Next year we have a lot of things for our customers and for our staff. We want to have other outlets so that our customers can see Joydon in different locations,” Ayeni said on the occasion of the company’s end of the year celebration.

The MD noted that despite weakening purchasing power due to the high inflation, the company made an “impressive turnover” this year compared to 2024.

Stores like Joydon are benefiting from an improving consumer spending after sky-high inflation hammered customers’ earnings while shrinking their appetite to purchase goods. With prices stabilising, the company’s turnover is expected to rise in the coming year.

One of the company’s director, Ayeni Ajibola noted that Joydon will continue to deepen its commitment to customer needs while rewarding its staff accordingly, stressing that 2026 will be a “wonderful” year for the firm.

Speaking on the importance of the celebration, Ajayi Bimpe, Joydon’s store supervisor said the occasion was designed to express appreciation to the company’s staff and customers, stating that the firm witnessed an improved patronage in 2025 compared to last year.

Ajayi said the firm will continue to prioritise the needs of its clients while ensuring that the quality it’s known for is maintained. “Joydon will continue to improve customer satisfaction. Customers needs are unpredictable but we are trying our best to make sure that we meet out with the targets of the customer.”
