President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been honoured with the chieftaincy title ‘Dike Si Mba Anambra’ (Warrior from the Diaspora) by traditional rulers representing all 179 communities in Anambra State.
The title was conferred on Thursday by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Ogalagidi, Eze Iweka III), during a colourful ceremony held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
The conferment was a highlight of President Tinubu’s one-day working visit to the state, where he commissioned several infrastructure projects executed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
Iweka said: “This is a title from all the royal fathers in the 179 communities of Anambra State.
“It is in recognition of your good works across the country, especially in the areas of infrastructure such as the roads connecting the Second Niger Bridge. We appreciate your leadership and pray for continued wisdom as you steer the ship of governance.”
President Tinubu expressed deep gratitude to the traditional rulers, describing the day as historic and deeply personal.
He said: “Our diversity must lead to prosperity. We must work together and commit ourselves to the development of this country.
“I feel deeply honoured by this recognition, and I will treasure this moment for the rest of my life.”
The event drew a high-profile audience, including National Security Adviser Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi.
