Some armed men on Monday attacked the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in Danko Wasagu, Kebbi State.
Daily Trust reports that the bandits who invaded the school killed the institution’s vice principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku.
It was gathered that the bandits also abducted an unconfirmed number of female students in the attack which took place at about 5am on Monday.
Maga is a community located in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi state.
The community has also witnessed several attacks by bandits who continue to kill and kidnap residents.
A resident of the community, Aliyu Yakubu who spoke on the incident said the criminals invaded the school without any form of resistance.
“The attack has created panic among residents of Maga. We are now in fear and mourning”, Yakubu said.
According to him, the vice principal of the school was shot while trying to protect the students from the bandits’ attack.
“He was shot as he tried to protect his students from being taken by the bandits. It’s a great loss for the community and the school”, Yakubu added.
