JUST IN: Family reveals details of how former Minister Audu Ogbeh died

The family of the late Audu Ogbeh has given details about the death of the former Minister of Agriculture.

Ogbeh died on Saturday, August 9, at the age of 78.

He served as a minister of Agriculture during the tenure of the former president Muhammadu Buhari.

A member of the All Progressives Congress, Ogbeh previously served as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party before leaving the party.

Speaking shortly after his death, Ann Ochanya Ali, his daughter-in-law who spoke in a video interview said he died peacefully.

According to Ali, the late former minister had said that he needed some rest and he laid down for a few hours.

Ali who spoke at the residence of the late former minister said, “He said he needed rest, and he laid down. This morning, in the early hours of the morning, he peacefully left.”

Also speaking at his residence was a former minister of information, Lai Mohammed.

Mohammed described Ogbeh as a man who left behind so many legacies.

He said, “One of the legacies Audu left behind is the legacy of service to the nation; a legacy of patriotism and he left behind a legacy of hard work wherever he was.”
