The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has announced the renaming of The Polytechnic of Ibadan in honour of the late former governor of the state, Omololu Olunloyo.
Naijaonpoint reports that this announcement was made during his brief remarks at the interdenominational commendation service for the late former governor, which took place at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan, the capital of the state.
Governor Makinde stated, “The institution will now be referred to as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.”
It is important to note that the late former Governor Olunloyo served as the pioneer Rector of the institution.
He passed away just a few weeks before his 90th birthday.
