The 19 Northern State Governors are set to hold a critical meeting on Saturday, November 29, to address the region’s pressing security challenges.

Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Public Affairs, revealed this in a phone interview with Daily Trust.

He said the meeting will take place in Kaduna and will also be attended by prominent traditional rulers.

“The meeting aims to develop a unified approach to tackling security concerns affecting the region and to discuss the way forward on security matters,” Ahemba explained.

He assured that decisive actions will be taken during the meeting to enhance regional security.

“Given the security challenges in some northern states, the Nasarawa State government has proactively organised this emergency security meeting to make decisive decisions and prevent any breaches of security in the state,” he added.

Ahemba further emphasised the role of citizens in maintaining security, urging them to assist security agencies by providing information on individuals with criminal tendencies.
