The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi, visited the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar.
Obi visited Atiku at his residence in Abuja on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
During the visit, the former vice president hosted the Labour Party leader to lunch alongside other associates who were present at Atiku’s home.
Obi’s visit might not be unconnected to the opposition’s coalition plan ahead of the 1027 general elections.
The coalition, championed by the former vice presisent among other aggrieved politicians is aimed at ousting President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.
Obi’s visit to Atiku also comes hours after one of his allies and party member, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State announced that he is still a member of the Labour Party.
According to Otti, no one or group has approached him to sell the coalition vision or mandate to him.
