Nigeria Police

Lagos’ most wanted assassin, Wasiu Akinwande has been arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate Court.

Akinwande was arraigned at the court on Tuesday, August 5, by the Lagos Police Command.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command said Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso is facing an 11-count charge.

“Wasiu Akinwande aka Olori Eso is currently being arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate Court on an eleven-count charge,” Hundeyin wrote in a post on X.

The 44-year-old suspected assassin was arrested in July during a covert tactical operation by the police.

Described as Lagos’ most wanted vicious and notorious hired killer, the police said the operation was carried out by a tactical team codenamed ‘Silence, Speed and Surprise’.

After years of evading arrest, he was arrested at his hideout in the Agbado area of neighbouring Ogun State.

The police had also described the suspect’s arrest as a huge success for the force.

“Arrest of most wanted vicious and notorious hired killer and head of killers gang in the history of Lagos State in recent time, Wasiu Akinwade a.k.a. Olori Eso, and recovery of nine (9) sophisticated firearms, ammunition, magazines, dagger, walkie-talkies and international passports,” Hundeyin said in a statement released in July.
