Police officers from the Force Headquarters have been captured on video disrupting the ongoing protest by their retired colleagues over poor pension.
The serving officers in their uniforms made efforts to stop the protest led by publisher, Omoyele Sowore on Monday, July 21, 2025.
While the protesters chanted various solidarity songs, a female police officer was captured alongside her serving colleagues pushingmembers of the protesting group.
Chanting “Pay police a living wage and proper pensions,” and “freedom commeth by struggle”, the protesters carried placards showing their demands for both serving and retired police officers.
One of the placards read #Police Protest”, “Decent Salaries Now,” “End Police Slavery,” “Pensions for Police Officers,” and “Dignity for Those in Uniform.”
Politics Nigeria gathered that protesters led by Sowore were prevented from accessing the Force Headquarters.
