A fuel tanker conveying diesel overturned on Monday at the Tincan Liverpool Bridge in the Apapa area of Lagos.
Footage shared by Channels Television showed residents gathering beneath the bridge to scoop diesel from the fallen tanker.
“Happening now at Tincan Liverpool Bridge, Apapa: A tanker overturned, with people scooping its contents from underneath the bridge,” Channels TV reported.
The incident occurred amid recurring warnings by authorities over the dangers associated with collecting fuel from fallen tankers.
Tanker-related accidents and explosions have remained a persistent safety concern across the country.
