President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received a delegation of the Progressives Governors Forum.
Naijaonpoint reports that this was disclosed in a post on 𝕏 on Monday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The governors filed into the President’s office at about 04:00 pm (local time).
Monday’s meeting lasted less than an hour and ended without a public briefing from any of the six state executives.
Those in attendance were the governors of Jigawa, Umar Namadi; Edo, Monday Okpebholo; Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji; Kogi, Usman Ododo; Sokoto, Aliyu Sokoto; and Kebbi, Nasir Idris.
Onanuga wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received in audience Governor of Sokoto Ahmad Aliyu, Governor of Ondo Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Jigawa Umar Namadi, Governor of Kebbi Dr Nasir Idris, Governor of Kogi Ahmed Usman Ododo and Governor of Edo Monday Okpebholo at the State House.”
The meeting comes as the country confronts fresh security headwinds, including abductions and eventual release of school children and worshipers across parts of the North-West and North-Central.

Meanwhile, the National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Peter Ameh, has alleged that the Bola Tinubu-led administration is increasingly worried about the growing political clout of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ameh made the claim during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on The Micon Podcast, where he said the federal government is allegedly taking deliberate steps to ensure Obi does not appear on the ballot.
According to him, the government’s focus on Obi stems from findings gathered through what he described as “data collection and behind-closed-doors engagements,” which indicate that the Labour Party candidate remains the most formidable challenger.
Ameh also accused presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, of repeatedly targeting Obi in his social media commentary, which he claimed forms part of a broader strategy to diminish the former Anambra governor’s influence.
He said, “We are not just running an election and just making speculation out of the blue. We also collect data and do a lot of engagement. I just came back from a journey I told you. So these are the things we do behind closed doors. And we know what is there, and we know that the only person that this government does not want to be on the ballot is Peter Obi. They are doing everything.
“Go and count how many times Bayo Onanuga has posted about Peter Obi on his on his Twitter page. He’s worried about Peter Obi. They’re worried. They don’t talk about anything without talking about Peter Obi.
“Tinubu is not afraid of Atiku and Rotimi Amaechi. It’s on record; they know it. There’s a high level of fear.”
