Operatives of the Osun State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, have arrested a 23-year-old suspect for stealing household appliances worth over ₦800,000 in Osogbo.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of Osun Amotekun Corps, Yusuf Idowu Abass, on Friday, the suspect, Lawal Musa, a tailor originally from Kaduna State, was apprehended in the Sabo area of Osogbo, where he currently resides.

His arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by Yusuf Idowu Abass, the Public Relations Officer of Osun Amotekun Corps.

Items recovered from the suspect include a flat-screen television, two large standing fans, and electrical cables.

During interrogation, Lawal confessed to selling the stolen items to a man identified as “Rilwan” within the same Sabo neighborhood.

He reportedly sold the television for just ₦27,000 and the two standing fans for ₦30,000 — far below their actual market value.

Amotekun operatives have launched an investigation into the alleged buyer, who is suspected to be part of a broader stolen goods resale network.
