SOME individuals posing as protesters, today, vandalized a branch of a new-generation bank in Tudun Wada, located in the Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed this during an interview.
He reported that the vandals broke into the bank, stealing valuable items and damaging several vehicles parked within the bank’s premises.
An Assistant Superintendent of Police, Hassan, also dismissed rumors that a police armoured personnel carrier was seized by the violent protesters at Tudun Wada.
He clarified that the vehicle’s driver successfully navigated through the crowd, as protesters climbed onto the vehicle, which carried live ammunition and therefore could not use maximum force against them.
Additionally, police confirmed the destruction of a security patrol vehicle belonging to the Kaduna State Vigilance Service in Rigasa, within the Igabi Local Government Area, as well as the burning of the Zaria office of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) by the same individuals.
