Kaduna: Horrifically Bloody Days, Christian Genocide Must End In Nigeria – US Lawmaker Warns

Riley Moore 20230308

A United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has called for urgent action to end what he described as the “genocide of Christians” in Nigeria.

Naijaonpoint reports that Moore made the remark in a statement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday while reacting to the recent abduction of a Catholic priest in Kaduna State.

The lawmaker was reacting to last week’s attack on the Holy Trinity Parish in Kaduna State, during which suspected bandits killed three persons and abducted a Catholic priest, Nathaniel Asuwaye, alongside 10 others.

The terrorists stormed the community, killing three parishioners before whisking away the cleric and other victims.

Reacting to the incident, Moore urged prayers for the abducted priest and others in captivity.

Please join me in praying for the safe return of Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Asuwaye of Holy Trinity Parish in Kaduna who was kidnapped alongside 10 others,” Moore wrote.

The US congressman described the attack as part of a disturbing trend of violence against Christians in Nigeria.

“Three of his parishioners were brutally murdered by radical Islamic jihadists during the attack. The last week has been some of the most horrifically bloody days in recent history for Christians across Nigeria,” he stated.

Moore further insisted that the responsibility of ending the violence rests with the Nigerian government.

The genocide of Christians must end, and it falls squarely on the Nigerian government’s shoulders to defend its citizens – all of its citizens – and end this violent persecution. Please keep praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ,” he added.
