In an interview on January 22, 2026, Kefas detailed how 177 worshippers were kidnapped from three churches on a single Sunday morning in Kurmin Wali village, sparking outrage and confusion as authorities initially denied the incident.

Kefas accused the LG chairman of visiting the community post-abduction and instructing residents not to speak publicly, promising safe returns that never happened. He took to social media, sharing names and photos to break through official denials, forcing eventual acknowledgment.
