FORMER Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State, Abbas Sani Abbas, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made during his visit to a prominent APC leader in Kano, where he pledged his loyalty to the ruling party.
Known for his grassroots mobilization and commitment to community development, Hon. Abbas explained his decision to switch parties.
“I believe the APC provides the platform to realize the vision of a better Kano and a stronger Nigeria. My decision is driven by a desire to contribute more effectively to good governance and development,” he stated during the visit.
His defection was welcomed by top APC leaders in Kano, including the state chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, popularly called Ɗan Sarki, Jikan Sarki, and other key stakeholders.
The APC chairman commended Hon. Abbas’s decision, describing him as a dedicated grassroots mobilizer and a leader focused on serving humanity.
“We are proud to welcome him into our great party,” he said.
He further highlighted the party’s commitment to inclusivity and progress.
“Together, we will continue to uphold the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and service to humanity. Hon. Abbas’s defection strengthens our ranks and signifies a new chapter for the APC in Kano,” he added.
Prince Abdullahi Abbas also expressed confidence that Hon. Abbas’s experience and dedication would enhance the party’s efforts in Kano State and beyond.
Party loyalists and political analysts in Kano have described the defection as a major boost for the APC, particularly in strengthening its grassroots mobilization.
