Kano police arrest 193, recover drugs and weapons in raid of black spots

The Kano State Police Command has sustained its proactive policing operations across the state.

Under the direction of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, and in line with the operational strategies rolled by the Police Command in Kano, simultaneous raids were conducted across identified black spots and criminal hideouts in the Command from 10th to 12th April, 2026. The operations were spearheaded by the 11 Area Commanders in the State.

A total of 193 suspects were arrested during the exercise, with the following exhibits recovered:

• Fifty-One (51) cutlasses
• Fifteen (15) sharp knives
• Forty-One (41) clubs/Gora
• Seventy-Two (72) rubber solutions
• Sixty-Nine (69) sachets of Pregabalin
• Two Hundred and Fifty-Nine (259) Exol tablets
• Large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, among other exhibits

Investigation is ongoing, while efforts are being sustained to ensure peace and stability in the State. Patrols, surveillance, and monitoring of identified hotspots continue across the State.

The Commissioner of Police commends the officers and men involved for their professionalism and resilience. He further appreciates members of the public for their continuous support and timely information, which remain vital to the success of these operations.
