Karl-Anthony Towns had plenty to celebrate this Christmas, and it had nothing to do with the scoreboard.
After the New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 126 to 124 at Madison Square Garden, the NBA star marked the holiday with a life-changing question.
Towns, 30, proposed to longtime girlfriend Jordyn Woods, 28, at Overstory, a sleek rooftop bar overlooking New York City. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram with a series of romantic photos and the caption, “Marry Christmas.”
Woods stunned in a white fuzzy coat layered over a matching dress, while Towns kept things classic in a suede jacket and black pants as he dropped to one knee.
The two have been together for five years after first crossing paths through mutual friends. They began dating in 2020.
“We became more than friends, just best friends first,” Towns previously shared. “We chose to grow together.”
Before she began dating Towns in 2019, Woods found herself at the center of controversy after she was accused of kissing Tristan Thompson, who was then dating Khloé Kardashian. The fallout effectively ended Woods’ close friendship with Kylie Jenner, with whom she had been inseparable for years.
Woods later addressed the situation publicly, taking responsibility for her actions while denying more serious allegations. Her supporters rallied around her and she finally found her happy ever after.
