Award winning singer Davido recently made a melancholic post, in honor of his late friend Dj Olu’s post-humous birthday.
In a brief but concise post, Davido said a little prayer, citing that Dj Olu should keep watching over them, and that all the plans they made while he was alive are coming to pass.
Davido and Dj Olu were thick as thieves while he was alive, and the tragic passing of the disc jockey rocked the internet in 2017.
The circumstances of Dj Olu’s death raised a lot of brows, as he was found dead in his car, alongside his friend Chime Amaechi.
A lot of questions were raised as to the cause of his death, but the family pleaded for privacy, so they could mourn in peace.
During his lifetime, Dj Olu achieved a lot in the music industry, and quickly became one of the most on-demand Dj’s of his time.
One of his most famous Dj gigs took place in Lagos, where his disc jockey skills held down a club and kept it open from nighttime to 7am.
Dj Olu was Davido’s official disc jockey for his record label from 2011 until his demise in 2017.
The relationship between Dj Olu and Davido transcended beyond business, as they often hung out together and celebrated each other’s wins.
Davido seemed sorely affected by Dj Olu’s death in 2017, as he canceled his performance at Felabration that year, which was quite a huge deal for his career at the point in time.
Despite being deep in mourning, Davido didn’t experience the peace required for mourning, as there were rumors flying around that he had a hand in Dj Olu’s death.
The singer remained mute about the accusations, and this helped to quell the rumors down a bit until it died down.
