Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has commended the conduct of the just concluded senatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, describing the exercise as the best primary election organised by the party in the state since its inception.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Keyamo congratulated Ifeanyi Okowa, who emerged victorious in Delta North Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone of Delta Central and Joel-Onowapo Thomas of Delta South for their victories at the primaries.

According to him, “I wish to profoundly congratulate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta North), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central and Senator Joel- Onowapo Thomas (Delta South) for their resounding victories at the just concluded APC Senatorial Primaries in Delta State. Their victories were fully deserved.”

“Yesterday’s primaries saw a large turnout of the truly ORGANIC voters and members of the APC in Delta State voting at various Ward levels in an exercise that was largely free and fair. As a foundation member and leader of the APC in Delta and one of the first Senatorial Aspirant of the Party in the State in 2013, I can state unequivocally that this is best primaries organised by the Party in the State since its inception.”

“Now is a time for healing and reconciliation. I urge all those who have lost gallantly to take it on their chin and embrace the victors for the unity of the Party and ultimately for victory of all our candidates at the general elections next year.”

“I also urge the victors to be magnanimous in victory and extend hands of fellowship and brotherliness to the losers and accommodate them and their supporters within their structures, going forward. There is always strength in unity.”

“I also wish to commend our amiable leader, the Governor of Delta State; the one and only Elder Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, for providing purposeful leadership and running one of the most inclusive political system ever witnessed in the State. His style of leadership is second to none and 2027 is just a coronation waiting to happen for him.”

“Finally, the greatest thanks go to the overall Leader of the Party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting internal democracy and allowing a free and fair process nationwide. Those who ignored local and grass-root leaders and neither lobbied or consulted them, but sought to get tickets from Abuja to impose themselves on the people have now been brought down from their high horses. This is a moment of sober reflection for them and time to join hands with others to truly build the Party from the grassroots.”

“To APC members, admirers and supporters nationwide, stay strong, keep the faith, work hard,” he said.
