Slavia Prague manager Jindřich Trpišovský has heaped praise on Nigerian youngster David Moses after handing him his debut in the club’s 2-0 victory over Pardubice in the Czech Liga on Saturday, Soccernet.football reports.

The 21-year-old, who can operate as a central midfielder, right-back, or right midfielder, joined Slavia Prague from fellow Czech club Karviná for an undisclosed fee on January 1, 2025.

After impressing in 13 league games for Karviná earlier in the campaign, Moses finally earned his first senior minutes for Slavia, coming on as a late substitute in their latest league triumph.

Despite his brief appearance, Trpišovský was impressed with the Nigerian talent and is confident he has the potential to become a key player for the club.

“We’ve been watching him for a long time,” Trpišovský said as per Infotbal.

From his first starts in the Karviná youth team and afterwards. I was looking forward to him because I like this type of player.

“Simply put, and someone has already talked about it, he is similar to Osky, but some of his strengths are slightly different. He mainly needs to improve his reaction radius on the pitch, the volume as such. And if Osky and Moses play side by side, the opponents will have a hard time.”

The Slavia boss believes Moses possesses the physical attributes and technical skills suited to the club’s playing style.

The kid has a great future,” the 48-year-old tactician added.

He has the skills and parameters suitable for our style, that he can handle it in different formations. He has indicated his attributes, and those are one-on-one defensive situations.

He is a kid who is very difficult to get around. The way he can use his body, his timing. And especially the dynamics and acceleration in the first meters, when he is able to create pressure on the opponent, jump over him. At the same time, when he gets the ball behind his back, it is practically impossible to escape him.”

Trpišovský acknowledged that Moses is still adjusting to the demands at Slavia but stressed that the youngster has the right mindset to develop.

He’s still adapting a little to the style and pressure here, but he’s a great kid with a great personality and learns quickly. We don’t want to rush him, but he’s a huge promise for us if something happens.”

Moses has signed a four-year contract with Slavia Prague, keeping him at the club until June 2029. He could be in line for his first start when Slavia host Banik Ostrava on Sunday.
