THE Kogi State Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals during joint bush-combing operations across the state.
The operations, carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, local hunters, and vigilante groups, targeted forested and remote areas believed to be exploited by criminal networks.
According to the command’s spokesperson, ASP Saliu Afusatu, the arrests followed intelligence-led efforts to disrupt and dismantle criminal activities, including suspected kidnapping syndicates.
The suspects are in custody as investigations continue, and appropriate legal action will follow.
The operations combined ground patrols with aerial surveillance, leading to the neutralization of several bandit camps and the abandonment of criminal hideouts.
The affected areas have since remained calm, with a continued visible security presence.
ASP Afusatu credited the success of the operations to the strategic leadership of Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, highlighting intelligence-driven policing, modern surveillance, and inter-agency cooperation as key factors in maintaining security across the state.
