The lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of her colleague, Senator Okey Ezea of Enugu North Senatorial District, who died on Tuesday night in the United Kingdom while receiving medical treatment.

Confirming the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning, Akpoti described the late lawmaker as a compassionate and thoughtful colleague whose presence in the Senate will be sorely missed.

In her emotional tribute, the Kogi lawmaker recalled Senator Ezea’s support during her difficult moments, noting that his kindness left a lasting impact.

She wrote, “Rest in peace, Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea. You were a good man! Wise and gentle.

“Your prayers kept me going through my darkest moments, and I will miss you in chambers.”

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also extended her sympathies to the people of Enugu North, describing their loss as shared.

“Enugu North Senatorial District, Kogi Central honours your Senator and mourns with you,” she added.

Naijaonpoint earlier reported that Ezeah was elected under the Labour Party (LP) and was the only remaining member of the National Assembly from Enugu State.

Findings by the Daily Post indicated that Ezeah, who was earlier treated in Germany, passed on Tuesday in the United Kingdom while receiving treatment.
