Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored his first goal for Besiktas to help them to a 2-0 victory over Konyaspor on Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ndidi maintained his place in Besiktas’ starting lineup when they traveled to the Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium to take on Konyaspor.
The home side dominated the play and fashioned the better chances, but they failed to score. They were soon punished in the 21st minute, as Ndidi scored the opener for Besiktas.
The Super Eagles midfielder met a cross off a corner kick and sent a powerful header into the net from close range to make it 1-0.

According to Opta Can, that goal was Ndidi’s first header goal for a club since August 2019, when he scored for Leicester City against Chelsea.

After going a goal down, Konyaspor started pushing for the equalizer, but Besiktas held on and took their lead into the break.
In the second half, Konyaspor continued to dominate the proceedings and push for the goal, but the Black Eagles defended well.
Then, in the 72nd minute, Besiktas struck again. This time, it was Tammy Abraham that converted a loose ball from close range, to make it 2-0.
The Black Eagles eventually saw out the lead and ran out with the 2-0 victory.
What Were Wilfred Ndidi’s Stats Against Konyaspor?
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi had a tough day in the middle of the park for Besiktas, but it was a decent performance overall.
Asides from his goal, he had 39 touches, won all of his four duels, made four clearances, one interception, and two tackles.
Besiktas’ win over Konyaspor now takes them to 6th in the Turkish Super Lig, with 16 points after nine games.
