NY Gov Says Kindergarten Students Wearing Masks Is Just Like Wearing Sneakers

It’s no different from forcing your 5-year-old kid to wear shoes, according to New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, when speaking on mandatory masks for kindergarten students.

“My kid had a breakdown over having to put shoes on to go to kindergarten,” Hochul stated during a news conference on Friday. “She got accustomed to school shoes. Adults struggle to adapt.”

The governor then stated that she is “looking forward” to lifting the mandates and acknowledged that “people are tired” of them, in an exchange that neither answered the reporter’s question nor set well with social media.

Radiologist Pradheep Shanker wanted to know where Governor Hochul’s mask was:

Rasmussen questioned Hochul’s sanity:

Since taking office as governor of New York, Gov. Andrew M. Hochul has dived headlong into murky waters. Hochul, who has been outspoken in her support for mask laws, came under fire in October when she was seen leaving a Broadway show without one.

This month, most school districts will no longer be required by law to wear face masks, according to the governor.

Turkey: Nominee for top Constitutional Court called for destruction of Israel

Published

on

Kenan Yaser

Islamic anti-Semitism is instructed in the Quran, and the sentiment in virtually ubiquitous across the Islamic world, especially when Hamas attacks Israel and Israel defends itself. It is always Israel’s fault. The Palestinian jihad (presented as “resistance”) against the state of Israel is relentless, and no matter what the Palestinians do, they are supported by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and mainstream Islamic groups and institutions.

Turkey, meanwhile, has been an increasingly virulent enemy of Israel, and openly anti-Semitic in the process:

  • In 2017, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was enraged over a Kurdish referendum on independence from Iraq. He blamed “the Jew” for it and threatened war.
  • In 2018, the Turkish daily newspaper Yeni Şafak, which is close to Erdogan, called for an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) “army of Islam” to attack Israel.
  • Last April, Erdogan declared Israel to be an enemy of Islam. He further called for all of humanity to “follow closely Israel’s hostility against Islam.”
  • A month later, when Israel was being attacked by a barrage of Hamas rocket fire and was thus forced to defend itself via Operation Guardian of the Walls, Erdogan asked the Pope to “mobilize the Christian world” to support the jihad against Israel. Erdogan also accused Israel of  a “massacre” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Given Erdogan’s sentiments toward Israel, Kenan Yaşar will likely fan the flames of violent anti-Semitism against the Jewish state, in sync with the Turkish government.

“Judicial nominee for Turkey’s Constitutional Court called for destruction of Israel,” by Abdullah Bozkurt, Nordic Monitor, January 18, 2022:

A top contender for a seat on Turkey’s Constitutional Court once called for the destruction of Israel, a Nordic Monitor investigation has discovered.

Kenan Yaşar, an attorney who received the most votes from bar associations for nomination as a judge at the nation’s top court, predicted a doomsday scenario for Israel in a posting on Twitter.

“As your oppression increases, your end is soon. The day of your destruction is near, terrorist Israel. Let the fire you light turn into a hell for yourself,” he tweeted on May 11, 2021.

In another tweet Yaşar shared a joke about the Holocaust to support a government move in 2020 to create bar associations to compete with ones that are critical of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The joke he retweeted on June 3, 2020 went like this: “A man walks into a bar and sees Hitler and Mussolini sitting at a table. He walks up to them and asks what they are doing. Hitler says We’re planning WW3. The man asks what’s going to happen this time. Hitler says This time we’re going to kill 14 million Jews and a bicycle repair man. The man asks why a bicycle repair man. Hitler turns to Mussolini and says, See, I told you no one would care about the 14 million Jews.”

Other comments made by Yaşar show that he was staunchly opposed to protecting the rights of LGBTI people as well as members of the Gülen movement, a group that is critical of the Erdoğan government.

Yaşar is a senior member of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and served as deputy charman of the AKP in Çorum province, the heartland of the country. He was twice a nominee for a seat in parliament in the elections of 2007 and 2011 on the AKP ticket. He is also the president of the bar association in Çorum.

If Yaşar is elected by members of parliament among three contenders for the seat on the Constitutional Court, he will be the second judge harboring openly anti-Semitic views. He is rumored to have already secured the backing of the Justice Ministry.
