Labour Party has inaugurated a new leadership for the Adamawa State Chapter.
The party set in motion a 14-member state caretaker committee to oversee its affairs.
Inaugurating the Committee in Yola Wednesday, the Deputy National Chairman of Labour Party, Bishop Esther Gulmu charged the committee to be guided by the provisions of the party’s constitution in handling activities of the party.
The committee has Beatrice Benjamin as chairman.
Giving her acceptance speech, Beatrice pledged a smooth transition with a purpose, describing the emergence of her committee as a child of necessity born to unite the party and put it on the path of progress.
She vowed, “We are here not to fight anyone but to build policy, advocacy and to promote democracy, and to be all inclusive and to carry everybody along.
“Without you, I am not anybody and without your support l can’t go anywhere, so l’m riding on your support and experience.”
The Labour Party in Adamawa State has for many years wobbled with internal crisis, with erstwhile chairman, Nicholas Christopher constantly challenged by party members who would not accept his leadership.
