THE Lagos State Government has shut down multiple establishments, including churches, hotels, and entertainment venues, for violating noise pollution regulations and other environmental laws.
The enforcement was carried out yesterday by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), which announced the action on its X account.
LASEPA stated that the violations pose serious risks to public health and safety.
The affected areas include Shomolu, Oniru Victoria Island, Jakande-Lekki, Badore Ajah, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, Lekki II, Ogombo, and Lekki Phase 1, among others.
The statement emphasized the agency’s unwavering commitment to promoting a healthy environment, highlighting that noise pollution and other environmental infractions disrupt community peace and public health.

The General Manager, Dr. Tunde Ajayi reiterated that the enforcement actions underscore LASEPA’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations and its determination to strictly enforce environmental laws.
“Noise pollution and other environmental breaches undermine the peace and well-being of our communities. Today’s actions reflect our firm resolve to enforce environmental laws and uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward defaulters,” Ajayi stated.
He further emphasized the importance of compliance with regulations and reaffirmed LASEPA’s commitment to fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Lagos.
