THE Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion in preparation for the seventh Road Edition of the Lagos Autofest 2025 Race, scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 22, 2025.
In a traffic advisory issued by the Ministry of Transportation, the state said vehicular movement would be restricted around Inner Marina, Marina Road and Kakawa Street on Lagos Island between 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m. to ensure the smooth conduct of the race.
According to the advisory, Marina Road from UBA through Kakawa Street, Balabina Street, Broad Street and Issah Williams Street will be temporarily closed, with the route looping back to Inner Marina, which will serve as the race’s finishing point.
All junctions and intersections along the affected corridors will be barricaded to limit access during the event.
The state government appealed to motorists to be patient, assuring that traffic management agencies, including LASTMA, the Nigerian Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps, will be deployed to control traffic and minimise disruption along the affected routes.
