Authorities in Los Angeles are reviewing new sexual assault allegations involving Sean “Diddy” Combs after receiving a report forwarded from Florida, where the accuser lives.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that its Special Victims Bureau has opened an investigation.

Police in Largo, Florida, said they assisted the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office but are not conducting a separate case. Their involvement began in September, when a man filed a report alleging he was assaulted by Diddy in 2020.

Although his name was removed from the official document, music producer Jonathan Hay later identified himself publicly as the complainant, saying he also appears as a John Doe in a civil suit filed against Diddy in July.

Hay told police he first encountered Diddy through a music collaboration with C. J. Wallace, the son of the late rapper Christopher Wallace. In his account, Hay claimed an incident in February 2020 occurred when Diddy allegedly pleasured himself in front of him and asked him to participate. Hay said he froze in disbelief and accused Diddy of throwing a soiled shirt at him afterward.

Hay further alleged that in March 2021, Wallace brought him to a location where two men covered his head before Diddy entered and forced oral contact. Hay said he shared photos and videos with Largo police to verify his connection to Wallace.

Wallace has firmly rejected the accusations and recently filed a counterclaim in Florida, calling Hay’s story fabricated and harmful to his reputation. He is seeking a jury trial and damages.

Diddy’s attorney, Jonathan Davis, said in a statement that Diddy “categorically denies” all accusations of sexual abuse. Davis added that Diddy intends to defend himself in court, where he believes the facts will be decided on evidence rather than public speculation.
