Workers of Lagos State University have suspended the strike action which began on July 31, 2025.
The workers, consisting of academic and non-academic staff said they would be resuming duties on Wednesday, August 13.
According to the workers, the decision to end the strike action follows a Congress organised at the university’s premises.
The congress was held by the Joint Action Committee – an umbrella body of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Non-Academic Staff Union, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, and the National Association of Academic Technologists.
Politics Nigeria gathered that since the commencement of the strike action, activities, including the second semester examinations at the university have been paralysed.
However, staff of the institution who spoke on the resumption of duty said a communique on the decision of JAC on the strike action would be made public as soon as possible.
“We are resuming on Wednesday. We arrived at this decision at our congress today (Monday).
“The JAC will issue a circular detailing the analysis,” a staff member of LASU said.
