Don’t Contest Against Tinubu – Jandor Warns Jonathan
Lagos PDP governorship candidate and Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan not to heed calls to re-contest in 2027.
Jandor said Jonathan would be taking a “political risk” running against President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as “a master in the game of politics.”
Oshiomhole Warns Jonathan Against 2027 Comeback, Says It’ll Damage His Legacy
Former Edo State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Adams Oshiomhole, has cautioned former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting in the 2027 presidential election, warning that such a move could tarnish his legacy.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Oshiomhole said that only those who do not have Jonathan’s best interests at heart would urge him to return to the political race.
According to him, the APC would have no trouble defeating Jonathan again if he decided to run
“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before when PDP was truly PDP,” Oshiomhole said.
“If a man had PDP at its best, at its peak, and he was defeated, I think only his enemies will push him to go into election.”
The former APC national chairman advised Jonathan to maintain his statesmanlike image and avoid political pressures that could undermine the respect he earned after peacefully conceding defeat in 2015.
“If I were to advise him, I’d say, ‘Sir, maintain this status. You governed for eight years; you don’t have to govern for nine,’” Oshiomhole added.
ADC Blasts Tinubu Over Security Challenges
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Tinubu of prioritizing politics over Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
In a statement by the ADC’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said Tinubu’s recent actions show “insensitivity to the suffering of citizens.”

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Mallam Salihu Isa Nataro, has called for a 2027 presidential ticket pairing Alhaji Aliko Dangote with Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, saying such a combination could help rescue and stabilise Nigeria’s economy.
In a statement released in Abuja on Sunday, Nataro said Nigeria needed leaders with deep economic insight and practical experience to tackle the country’s challenges of unemployment, inflation, and poverty.
According to him, a partnership between an industrialist like Dangote and a reform-driven technocrat such as Otti would bring the right balance of business acumen and administrative reform needed to rebuild the economy.
“If Dangote can step down as chairman of all his conglomerates, as he recently did in two companies, Nigerians will support him to contest with Otti to industrialise Nigeria within a short period,” Nataro stated.
The APC stalwart also faulted state governments for neglecting vocational training and agriculture-driven industries that could boost productivity and create jobs.
“Economic initiatives that create employment will help discourage youths from street crimes and drug abuse,” he added.
