A Nigerian lawyer, Festus Ogun, has declared his intention to file a lawsuit against the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for blocking him on X (formerly Twitter).
In a post shared via his handle, @mrfestusogun, Ogun stated that the governor’s action—blocking him for nearly three years—violates his constitutional right to freedom of expression, especially as a resident of Lagos.
He wrote: “For about three years, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has blocked me on Twitter. August 2025, I will be approaching the court for legal remedies.”
“As a Lagos resident, I am convinced that my blocking is an attack on my constitutional right to freedom of expression.”
