Recall that following the singer’s death, many, including Mohbad’s father, have been clamouring for a DNA test to be done on Liam, his son, to ascertain his paternity. Omawunmi had made it known that she wouldn’t be doing a DNA test for her son. Giving reasons, Omowunmi made it known that no one has the right to tell her to do it.
In April, the mother of one was served the court order for a DNA test after the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu granted the order. Mohbad’s father’s legal team told the court that they had attempted twice to serve Wunmi the court process but failed, and the Chief Magistrate then ordered that Wunmi should be served by posting the court process on her last known address, which they did by pasting it on her house gate.
When Omowunmi turned a year older in April, she made a special request to Nigerians, urging them to celebrate her husband on her birthday, rather than her. She noted how this was the first time in many years, she would be celebrating her birthday without him.
Omowunmi described Mohbad as not only her husband but also her best friend, confidant, gist partner and more. She disclosed that the best birthday gift he gave her before his death was their son, Liam.
