Leye Bunmi Falode, Esq. has been elected Global President of the Great Ife Alumni Association at the 26th Biennial Convention held on May 23, 2025, at the African Centre of Excellence, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
The convention brought together delegates from various branches across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Leye Falode is a distinguished alumnus with an impressive academic background – Bachelor of Education (History), Obafemi Awolowo University (1989), Master of Public Administration (MPA), Obafemi Awolowo University, LL.B, Obafemi Awolowo University (2002)
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in year 2008. He also had his
LL.M at the Obafemi Awolowo University and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law
Falode has extensive experience in public service, law practice and in hospitality business. He served as
Senior Special Assistant to former Osun State Governors and as a
Former Chairman, Osun State Rent Tribunal. He is currently the Principal Partner, L.B. Falode & Co. (Law Firm) and the CEO, El Bee Grandeur Hotel and Lounge, Osogbo.
Before his election as Global President, Falode served in various capacities such as the Chairman, Great Ife Alumni Association, Osogbo Branch, Vice-President (South West), Great Ife Alumni Association, Chairman, Convention Organising Committee, Member, Alumni
Centre Management Committee, etc.
Barr. Leye Falode in his acceptance speech immediately after his inauguration, said his Team would hit the ground running in pursuing the core values of the Association and building on the solid foundation laid by the founding fathers and past leaders of the Association.
While describing the Alumni as agent of change for the University, the Students and means of networking even among members, the newly elected OAU Alumni Global President added that the Alumni has the major task of providing Support and Advancement to the University, knowing that Government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities of running the University, owing to paucity of revenue.
He then promised to mobilise all Alumni all over the world to contribute their quota to the development of the University, adding that the Diaspora Branches, particularly, will be meaningfully engaged with a view to having an intact and vibrant Alumni body..
