Adin Ross is cooling expectations around a boxing match that briefly had the internet buzzing.
During a recent livestream, Ross shared an update on the long-talked-about challenge between DJ Akademiks and Lil Baby. The idea gained traction after Akademiks publicly denied claims that Lil Baby’s assistant had slapped him, firing off insults and daring the rapper to step into the ring.
Ross initially suggested the matchup was possible, saying Lil Baby was open to boxing if the money made sense. “He said he’s down to box Akademiks for the right bag,” Ross told viewers, adding that he was looking for help to put the deal together.

That optimism did not last long. Ross later admitted the numbers being discussed were far beyond reach. “When I went to Lil Baby, I thought we could make this fight happen,” he said. “But $30 million to $40 million, I can’t do that right now.”
Ross explained that the demand made sense given Lil Baby’s status. “When you’re Lil Baby and you’re a rapper and you have credibility, you can’t blow that,” he said.
Ultimately, Ross believes the rapper is not interested in internet drama. “I just think he doesn’t want to be on this internet stuff,” Ross said. “He doesn’t want to mess with it.”
For now, the proposed bout appears to be off the table.
