Lizzo is opening up after a judge dismissed fat-shaming claims brought against her in a lawsuit filed by three former dancers.

In a video shared on Instagram and TikTok, the pop star addressed the decision directly, saying the accusation had hurt given the values she has long promoted.

“The fat-shaming allegations haunted me for the last two years,” she said. “It has been devastating to suffer through this in silence.”

The judge ruled there was no evidence to support claims that the dancers were fired due to weight gain. Lizzo said the court agreed they were terminated for a different reason.

“There was no evidence that I fired them because they gained weight,” she said. “They were fired for taking a private recording of me without my consent and sending it off to ex-employees.”

While that portion of the case has been dismissed, the lawsuit continues over allegations of sexual harassment. Former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez claim they were pressured into attending sex shows and interacting with nude performers while touring between 2021 and 2023.

Lizzo has denied those claims. “I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself,” she said when the lawsuit was first filed. “But I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”

Lizzo said she is prepared to keep fighting. “I am not settling,” she said. “I will be fighting every single claim until the truth is out.”
