Maduka Okoye has described Udinese’s emphatic win over AC Milan as a night the squad will never forget after a commanding 3-0 win at the San Siro.
Udinese swept aside AC Milan in Saturday’s Serie A clash at the iconic San Siro. An own goal by Davide Bartesaghi set the tone before strikes from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Arthur Atta sealed a famous away win for the visitors.
“It’s a weekend we’ll never forget,” Okoye told the club’s official website. “Winning 0-3 at San Siro is special. It was a huge emotion, an incredible evening for all of us.”
The Nigerian international produced another assured display between ...s, recording his third consecutive clean sheet. He credited the entire side for the defensive solidity.
“For me, keeping a clean sheet is like scoring a goal. I’m happy to have kept three in a row, but it’s down to teamwork, which starts from the attack,” declared the shot stopper.
Okoye also highlighted a key moment from the contest, recalling his instinctive stop from Alexis Saelemaekers.
“It was a difficult save because I didn’t see the ball go; it was mostly instinct and also a bit of luck, because the ball then hit the crossbar. I’m happy to have helped the team like this. It’s my best save since I’ve been at Udine, along with the one in Frosinone,” added the shot stopper.
