Man sentenced to 20 years for child pornography

Oct. 3 – A Bakersfield man was sentenced Monday to 20 years in prison for child pornography, according to a Justice Department press release.

John Perry, 64, of , was convicted of receiving child pornography.

In February 2020, Perry was found to have received more than 1,000 image files from minors suffering from various forms of sexual abuse through both the use of an email account and cloud data storage on a cell phone and on the Internet, according to court documents. Many of the images showed prepubescent minors, and Perry also engaged in a pattern of activities involving the sexual abuse of minors.

Perry had previously been convicted in Washington and California for committing crimes including rape of a child, communicating with minors for immoral purposes and possession of child pornography.
