Happy Thabo Aphane, 31, appeared in the Marble Hall Magistrates’ Court on August 26, 2025, for the alleged murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Botshelo Moimane, 23.
He is accused of stabbing her multiple times on August 19, before fleeing the scene.
Moimane, who was four months pregnant, was found dead by community members who alerted the police.
Aphane was arrested the following day in Elandskraal.
It was revealed that in May 2025, Moimane had opened an assault case against him but later withdrew it, leading to his release in July.
The court has postponed the matter to September 9, 2025, to allow the accused to obtain legal representation.
Aphane remains in custody until his next court appearance.
