Management Postpone NPC Adhoc Staff Training Date From 31st March – See New Date below.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced new training dates for its enumerators and supervisors in preparation for the upcoming 2023 Population and Housing Census. The announcement was made following a workshop that took place on March 27, 2023, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. The workshop was attended by the Chairman and Members of the NPC, who discussed various operations and processes relating to the census.

During the workshop, it was decided that the State Level DQM and Specialized Workforce Refresher Training would take place from April 3 to April 6, 2023. The training for ad hoc employees was also rescheduled, with the new dates set for April 25 to April 30, 2023. The census night was scheduled for May 2, 2023, while the fieldwork would begin on May 3 and run through May 6, 2023.

The Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC emphasized the importance of the workshop in ensuring the success of the census. They hoped that the workshop would provide them with an updated and thorough understanding of the state of the census operations. This would allow them to effectively oversee and coordinate the entire census process at all levels.

The NPC also took into account religious events that typically take place in April when deciding on the census date. They set the date for the first week of May to avoid any potential conflicts with these events.

Overall, the NPC is working diligently to ensure a successful and accurate census in 2023. The workshop and training dates are essential steps in this process and will provide enumerators and supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.
