Mars Being Sued For Using Illegal Child Slave Labor to Make “WOKE” M&M’s and Other Candy

Did you know M&M’s have gone “woke”?

***FOLLOW US ON RUMBLE***

That’s right, the little candy-coated chocolates are now getting into the “gender-bender/feminist” progressive hogwash.

Just what we need, right?

Daily Mail reported on the stupid story, saying that the iconic M&M characters – ubiquitous in commercials for the chocolate candies for decades – are getting a makeover that the company claimed Thursday will fit them in a ‘more dynamic, progressive world.’

The changes, which will take effect immediately, gives the characters a more modern look to emphasize characters’ ‘personalities.’

The biggest changes appear to be to the two female M&Ms, the green and brown ones. Mars, the maker of the candies, has been criticized in the past for making the green M&M too sexy, and either pushing a rivalry or a possible flirtation with the brown M&M.

This is what the original “non-woke” M&Ms looked like:

Here’s the new “woke” M&Ms:

The solution appears to be the green M&M losing her stiletto boots in favor of sneakers and the brown M&M wearing slightly lower heels than before to what Mars spokespersons called a ‘professional height.’

Mars wants the green M&M to be ‘better represented to reflect confidence and empowerment, as a strong female, and known for much more than her boots.’

As far as the relationship between the green and brown M&Ms, it will be based on the two ‘together throwing shine and not shade,’ as a reaction to how the two have been at odds at times in promotional material.

If you think this is the dumbest stuff you’ve ever heard, you’re not alone. I am right there with you.

But the reason I am telling you all of this is because while Mars and liberals are fretting over the personality of a piece of candy, a really serious matter of life and death is unfolding.

Mars and other candy giants are being sued for “aiding and abetting” illegal child labor on massive cocoa plantations on the Ivory Coast.

Eight former child-slaves, who are now adults, are suing the candy companies.

The Guardian reported last year that eight children who claim they were used as slave labour on cocoa plantations in Ivory Coast have launched legal action against the world’s biggest chocolate companies. They accuse the corporations of aiding and abetting the illegal enslavement of “thousands” of children on cocoa farms in their supply chains.

Nestlé, Cargill, Barry Callebaut, Mars, Olam, Hershey and Mondelēz have been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed in Washington DC by the human rights firm International Rights Advocates (IRA), on behalf of eight former child slaves who say they were forced to work without pay on cocoa plantations in the west African country.

The plaintiffs, all of whom are originally from Mali and are now young adults, are seeking damages for forced labour and further compensation for unjust enrichment, negligent supervision and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It is the first time that a class action of this kind has been filed against the cocoa industry in a US court. Citing research by the US state department, the International Labour Organization and Unicef, among others, the court documents allege that the plaintiffs’ experience of child slavery is mirrored by that of thousands of other minors.

Ivory Coast produces about 45% of the global supply of cocoa, a core ingredient in chocolate. The production of cocoa in west Africa has long been linked to human rights abuses, structural poverty, low pay and child labour.

A central allegation of the lawsuit is that the defendants, despite not owning the cocoa farms in question, “knowingly profited” from the illegal work of children. According to the submissions, the defendants’ contracted suppliers were able to provide lower prices than if they had employed adult workers with proper protective equipment.

Well, now we know who will make these more “progressive” M&M’s – a bunch of abused children. How “forward-thinking” of Mars, right?

But that’s okay. Liberals don’t really care what’s going on in the “real world,” as long as they have cute little candy symbols of their progressive lifestyle.

Mars has a section on their website talking about child slave labor and their so-called efforts to stop it:

For decades, we have worked in collaboration with others toward achieving sustainable cocoa production and a cocoa supply chain where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, human rights are respected, and the environment is protected. However, progress has been slow, and we believe that we and others must significantly step-up our efforts to drive the change that is needed. That’s why we launched our Cocoa for Generations strategy in 2018. Backed by an investment of billion over 10 years (2018-2028), our efforts are focused on protecting children, preserving forests and improving farmer income across our cocoa supply chain while also strengthening the viability of the cocoa supply in the future by helping farmers grow more cocoa on less land, diversifying their crops and income, and empowering women and communities.

Does anyone really believe children are not still being used as cheap labor to make “woke” candies?

Mars has no comment on the litigation, claiming they don’t talk about ongoing lawsuits.

Ann Will. The officer distributes traffic lights after the failure of the NRW elections

Ann Will The officer distributes traffic lights after the failure

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the SPD և FDP have historically performed poorly. But who is responsible for this? Former Federal Minister of Health Span gives a lot to Anne Will, SPD leader Klingbale stumbles. –

State elections in North Rhine-Westphalia shake the coalition of traffic lights. While the CDU և Greens are the winners, the SPD և the FDP are historically poor. The fact that the two ruling parties did so poorly in the “small federal elections” in the most populous state also raises questions about the federal government. Especially the representative of the SPD, Lars Klingbale, finds it difficult to defend against “Anne Will”.

On Sunday, shortly after the NRW election, Anne Will will discuss the following on the ARD talk show.

  • Jens Span (CDU), former Federal Minister for Health

  • Lars Cleanbale, SPD leader

  • Ricarda Lang, Federal President of the Greens

  • Christian Duer, Chairman of the FDP Parliamentary Group

  • Mariam Lowe, Journalist (“Die Zeit”)

The CDU wins over Prime Minister Hendrik Vust, the Greens reach a historic high, the SPD a historic defeat, and the former coalition partner the FDP just barely misses leaving the state parliament. This is the balance of the NRW elections on Sunday.

Especially the SPD representative Lars Klingbale, whose party predicted a “social-democratic decade” by the end of 2021, falls with Will on the hard ground of facts. But he obviously does not want to admit it to himself. “We would like to get more,” Klingbale said. However, he remains committed to the involvement of a possible SPD government in North Rhine-Westphalia, with Thomas Kushat, the main candidate for ministerial post. “Mr. West has to see if he can get the majority,” Klingbale said. In fact, a coalition of traffic lights could be formed in NRW as well.

FDP admits “bitter election defeat”.

Christian Durr, on the other hand, is clearer. “For the FDP, this is a bitter election defeat,” he said. He is especially angry that the party has treated the elderly voters so badly. But. “As a liberal, you have nerves of steel,” Durr said. After the debacle in the Schleswig-Holstein elections last Sunday (minus 5.1 percentage points), he speaks from experience.

The biggest argument is Officer v. Klingbale

But who is to blame for the double defeat of the SPD and the FDP? Jens Spann quickly secured the unwelcome role of the tempting fifth wheel in Willie’s traffic light. He shares hints especially from the SPD about his former GroKo partner.

He is surprised by the SPD government’s hopes in North Rhine-Westphalia. After the historic worst result for the Union in the 2021 federal election, the parties took the time to learn and learn from the results. “I would like that too from the SPD,” says the officer with a smile.

The CDU politician also shoots at the SPD Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He has seen campaign posters with the image of the chancellor everywhere in North Rhine-Westphalia, but he has said almost nothing about election-related issues such as rising prices. “I have not even heard from the chancellor how we want to deal with inflation,” he said. Even Will has to agree.

It seems that Klingbale did not impress his former “Groco” partner. “You can say that Mr. Span has found himself in the role of the opposition, he obviously enjoys it,” he said.

Is Chancellor Schultz to blame for the collapse of NRW?

In fact, the Chancellor’s hyperactivity and his apparent inaction at the federal level have repeatedly put SPD politician Klingbale in trouble. Klingbale has no specific answer to Mariam Lowe’s accusation that the Chancellor’s communication was opaque, sometimes even arrogant.

“Politicians are different in their communication,” he hesitates. “If at the end of the war it is said that the chancellor did not communicate well for a week or two, that is great for me.” And one should not help but wonder if some SPD voters are turning their backs on their party because of this attitude.

On the other hand, he is assisted by Klingbale’s traffic partners Christian Dure և Ricarda Lang. Lang, in particular, does not see the fall of NRW as a loss to the Federal Chancellor or to the traffic lights. Stable federal government is more important than competition. Easy also wants to give priority to national projects. “The previous government left a lot,” he says, replacing the controversial opposition Spaniard.

Spahn is excited. Cloud only has unity when it comes to cannabis

As the show progresses, it becomes more and more unclear whether it is the analysis of the NRW election results or the CDU’s late revenge campaign. In any case, Spah goes on the final attack. The traffic light does not agree with the excessive number of points և wastes the voters’ time with explanations instead of actions. “The only thing that was quickly agreed upon was the legalization of cannabis,” he says.

The rest just shakes their heads tiredly. “It is clear that there is not always a complete agreement,” says Lang. “Otherwise we would not have joined different parties.” The two fixed energy price packages, the 9 euro ticket և the children’s bonus have proved the ability of the traffic light to work.

But is this pragmatic explanation enough for the real failures of the young coalition? In the end, the social organizations criticized that the pensioners were forgotten in both packages. In addition, short-term measures do not replace or neutralize long-term changes in climate neutrality or social justice. Topics that the traffic lights parties advertised during the pre-election campaign.

How is their implementation involved in the NRW election results? It is not possible to answer before the end of the program, probably not after. The summary of the green politician Lang, on the other hand, reflects the current general situation. “We are facing different challenges than we could have imagined in the coalition talks.” At least one election result should have been added for the FDP և SPD coalition partners after this.
