The Marvel Comics: Spider-Man and His Venomous Friends Panel at New York Comic Con has just revealed a new crossover saga spinning out of Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage, titled DEATH SPIRAL.
The event kicks off with AMAZING SPIDER-MAN/VENOM: DEATH SPIRAL #1, written by Al Ewing, Charles Soule, Joe Kelly, and illustrated by Jesús Saíz, hitting comic shelves on February 26, 2026. Following this one-shot special, the Death Spiral saga will continue in issues of Amazing Spider-Man and Venom through April.

Spider-Man’s cosmic adventures, Mary Jane becoming Venom, and Eddie Brock bonding with Carnage were among the developments highlighted by the panel. The creative team explained how these events all lead into the terrifying new saga, which introduces Torment, a villain whose arrival promises to upend the lives of Peter Parker and everyone connected to him.
Torment has been teased as a twisted new supervillain targeting Peter Parker and those around him, placing Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage on a violent collision course. The panel made it clear that not everyone involved will survive, signaling that the saga will have massive consequences for these fan-favorite characters and drastically change the status quo.

Spider-Editor Nick Lowe teased that Death Spiral will be “One of the wildest times in Spider and Symbiote history” as the storylines in Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage finally converge, promising an epic and chaotic crossover event.
Soule elaborated on the dynamic fans can expect between the main characters, stating, “Spider-Man, Venom, Carnage, Mary Jane… they’re essentially a weird family unit, interconnected with gigantic amounts of history together. There’s an engine there, there’s a lot of emotional energy to there to break apart.” Kelly added, “And then we needed a serial killer.” Hence, fans can anticipate an unforgettable new era of Spider-Man and Venom storytelling.

The Venom symbiote is an alien organism that first bonded with Peter Parker (Spider-Man) during the “Secret Wars” storyline.
