Miami football fans on Hurricanes message boards saw enough of Mario Cristobal as MTSU jumped to a major lead in the first half.
Mario Cristobal was supposed to be the one to restore Miami to its former glory. So far, he has a problem with that.
A week after suffering a loss to Texas A&M, the Hurricanes had a great opportunity to bounce back and get back on track with a visit to Central Tennessee.
The Blue Raiders decided not to follow the scenario. They snatched a 21-point lead and went into the first inning with a 24-10 lead.
Miami message boards have turned into Mario Cristobal
Miami fans turned their anger on Cristobal over the embarrassing show.
The Oregon fan base only had the nods, “I told you so” comments.
There is no doubt about Cristobal’s recruiting ability. He is the elite in this respect. However, questions about his in-game training ability have followed him from the FIU to Oregon and now to Miami.
He may simply need a little more time to get things going with the Hurricanes, but fans won’t want to be overly impatient. Even a Miami transition team should be able to sponsor business against MTSU. This is especially true when you consider the valid concerns about the Cristobal ceiling.
He was able to win the Pac-12 Championship with the other powers in the conference like USC and Washington. However, he wasn’t able to truly put the ducks into the national championship competition. This is where Miami fans want to be. This is where Cristobal needs to take them. If he couldn’t, he wouldn’t be in Miami for long.
