The Mbege Ka Michika, His Royal Majesty Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, has pledged his kingdom’s full cooperation with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
The monarch made the commitment on Monday, November 10, 2025, during a courtesy visit to the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, where he led members of his traditional council to meet with the agency’s chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), who hails from Michika in Adamawa State.
During the visit, Prof. Gadiga praised Marwa for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the development of Michika through infrastructure projects, educational support, and community empowerment.
He said the people of Michika were proud of Marwa’s service to Nigeria and would continue to support his efforts to rid the nation of drug abuse.
The monarch stated that his community has begun sensitizing churches and mosques on the dangers of drugs, stressing that Michika would not tolerate trafficking or abuse within its borders.
He also expressed readiness to partner with NDLEA on community sensitization and local enforcement measures to protect the youth.
In response, Marwa congratulated the royal father on his appointment and expressed gratitude for his continuous support to the NDLEA command in Michika.
He said the war against drugs requires the involvement of everyone, including religious and traditional leaders, and urged the monarch to establish a local drug control committee to work closely with the agency.
The monarch’s delegation included retired General Bitrus Kangye, Ambassador Ibrahim Mohammed Bashir, Dr. John Quaghe, and Halima Buba.
