The military has deployed personnel and eight patrol vehicles to the Gado Nasko Road area of Kubwa following the trailing of Lieutenant A.M. Yerima by unidentified persons on Sunday.

According to Vanguard, a convoy of eight military vehicles was seen patrolling the Gado Nasko axis at about 7 p.m., a development believed to be connected to concerns for the officer’s safety.

The source also stated that the military has confirmed that the alleged trailing incident is under investigation.

Naijaonpoint recalls that sources quoted by Vanguard disclosed that Yarima was trailed by unidentified men dressed in black and riding in two unmarked Hilux vans with no number plates.

The sources stated that the vehicles allegedly followed him from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.

According to the source, the officer noticed the surveillance and executed a “strategic manoeuvre,” successfully evading the suspected assailants. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:30 p.m.

The source added that the matter is under investigation and is receiving “the seriousness it deserves,” noting that further details are being withheld to avoid compromising the process.

Yerima, while on duty with other security personnel, recently clashed with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over a disputed land site in Gaduwa District of Abuja.
