MNJTF troops rescue abducted Cameroonian govt official, others in Lake Chad

The Multinational Joint Task Force(MNJTF), said its troops engaged in the counter terrorism operations in the Lake Chad Region have rescued one Mrs Gambo Genevieve, Head of Service at the Department of Physical Education in Logone and Chari, Cameroon and bursted a key terrorists logistics supplier in Gubio, Borno State.

MNJTF Chief Military Information Officer Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, who made this known, said the troops deployed in Mora responded to a distress call from locals in the villages of Gangawa and Kangaleri in Gogolom, Division of Mora.

Osoba, in a statement, said Upon arrival, the troops engaged the terrorists, who fled the scene, abandoning their abducted victims. The rescued victims include Mrs Gambo genevieve and five others who are presently undergoing medical examination

Osoba, further stated that in a separate operation, troops deployed in sector 3 Mongunu intercepted a Boko Haram Terrorists Logistics supplier identified as Babagana Zaninu in Gubio with a Toyota pickup loaded with assorted food items comprising illicit drugs, soft drinks, sugar, flour, which the suspects intends to supply to Boko Haram Fighters. The suspected terrorists’ logistics supplier confessed that the items were purchased from Gubio market to be delivered to Gazabure Village in Gubio for the terrorists
